Cabbage pancakes!! Here, it is another awesome pancake with finely chopped cabbage. This is really delicious & easy to cook pancakes.
I am sharing this post just a day before Saraswati puja 2018. So probably I won’t share anything in next two days. This was an awesome breakfast dish and I tried this food in this morning. Though I like cabbage (patta gobi) but I liked these cabbage pancakes because of its awesome taste and I found it like a fried nest made with green leaves.
It is crispy outside but soft & juicy inside. Even cabbage haters can try this, haha and I am sure you will definitely like this. The best part of this pancake is – it can be used with bread like a burger. You can add cucumber slices, tomato slices along with it.
When I started writing this post I thought I would share this post before Saraswati puja (that was on 22nd January 2018) but I could not make it possible and finally I am going to share this on 23rd January 2018. Last two days were little hectic because of the arrangement of this puja. It is always a special day for students when they can visit own school as well as all nearby schools without a school uniform. It was an also a special day for small kids when they start learning alphabets (hatey khori) in front of Goddess of Knowledge. This is also a happy moment for parents of those kids.

Pancakes are really good for breakfast and I like this because I can make pancakes with any vegetable & fruit what I like most. It has a lot of varieties (white peas pancakes, mashed potatoes pancakes, easy cheesy veg pancakes)and I repeat some of those very often in my breakfast menu. These cabbage pancakes are one of the varieties.
Cabbage pancakes recipe
- 2 cups finely chopped cabbage
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp grated ginger
- 2 tsp coriander powder
- 2 tsp cumin powder
- 2.5 tsp red chilli powder
- Salt as needed
- Water, if needed
- Refined oil for deep frying
- 1 tbsp veg mayonnaise
- Mix all ingredients for pancake batter, add water if needed to adjust consistency
- Heat enough oil in a cooking pan for deep frying
- Take a full spoon or pancake mixture and press it with your palm and put it in oil, initially fry it in low flame on both sides then cook both sides with high flame for 20 seconds each
- Keep fried cabbage pancake on a plate, spread mayonnaise over pancake & serve hot
You can even use steamed cabbage (steam finely chopped cabbage for 10-12 minutes) but in such case, you do not need to cook it under low fire when frying
