I am talking about ghugni with pauruti. People love spicy hot & sour ghugni as a snack. It is also served with bread as a light meal. Sometimes a scrambled boiled egg is served along with ghugni.
Now don’t say what is ghugni? Huh!
If you do not live in West Bengal then I would say it is a spicy chaat prepared with sun-dried white peas (matar). It is really mouthwatering. Kids often have this during tiffin time at school. Most of us already experienced it. Is this not true?
Many people also love this food to have with muri (puffed rice). Ghugni pau ruti is such a popular & tasty breakfast that everybody enjoys this. Near the railway station, you can definitely find a person who is selling this in the morning.
It is popular because for three reasons- The most important reason is it is super delicious, secondly it is a healthy & simple light meal, thirdly, this light meal is very cheap. You can get a small bowl of ghugni and bread for Rs10-15. So nobody can ignore this breakfast food.
No somebody can say that it is also available for dinner too and many street food vendors sell this in the evening along with various other snack items. Many people also have it with bread or muri as a meal for the night. But most people consider it as a snack in the evening rather than a meal.
Also try: Bengali style phuchka/golgappe/panipuri,
But it is more popular as breakfast and people have this as breakfast rather than a snack in the morning.
