This is another vegetable which is also used the same word in Bengali as well as English. In Bengali, it is known as beet instead of beetroot. It is a popular winter vegetable. Its extract is also used as a natural food color.

Apple (English) – Aapel (Bengali)
This tree is originated from central Asia. It is popular across the world because of its taste & flavor. It is also used to make various food & drinks. Apple juice is also very popular in urban India. Apple is known as AAPEL in the Bengali language. Surprisingly both apple & aapel sound similar. Is it not true. Probably it is also derived from apple.
Litchi/Lychee (English) – Lichu (Bengali)
Litchi is another very popular fruits in India. Its juice is also widely available in various market in packaged form. It is a very sweet & flavorful fruit. This wonderful fruit is originated from China. India is the world’s second-largest producer of litchi fruit after China. Litchi/lychee is known as lichu in the Bengali language. Both litchi & lichu sound almost similar. Is it not true?
