If you are an Indian then you definitely love to eat pakoda. Is this not true? I mean tea & pakoda are favorite snack to many people across the country. Who does not love to eat hot & crispy pakoda along with red & green chatni or simple tomato sauce? The taste of pakodas increases more during winter season. People enjoy those during cold weather along with a cup of hot tea or coffee. So nobody can imagine a picnic without veg fritters (pakoda / pakora meaning in English) as snack because during winters there are a lot of fresh vegetables available in the market.
Though most people will prefer chicken pakoda or paneer pakoda but without any vegetable pakora in menu, winter picnic will be incomplete.

Though it is not a vegetable but we consume it as vegetable food option. Mushroom is a macrofungi. It is nutritious. There are many mouthwatering dishes which are prepared with this mushroom. But mushroom is often used to make delicious & nutritious pakoda. I love such pakoda. Any type of edible mushrooms (button, oyster etc) can be used to make mushroom pakora.
Cauliflower is a very flavorful winter vegetable. Most people love this vegetable and prepare various dishes. It is also used to make this special cauliflower fritters. It becomes more enjoyable when it is served with a cup of hot coffee or tea.
Lettuce is a popular vegetable and mostly it is used to make salad or sandwiches. But did you ever try lettuce pakoda? It is so tasty. Hot & crispy lettuce pakoda is the best veg fritters to have in a winter picnic. Last year, I grew lettuce a lot and consumed throughout the season. So I tried lettuce pakoda several times. I love to have it as a snack in any picnic or other party.
It is also a veg fritter. But slightly different in taste because it hot & crispy cauliflower pakoda is served with juicy texture. It is a very special one and I love to have those crispy & saucy pakora on any special occasion.
When there are many people in a picnic and everybody has his own preference of pakoda then it is the best idea to prepare mixed veg pakoda because everybody will enjoy this. I prefer to use spinach, methi, onion, potato, helencha, lettuce etc to make this mixed veg fritters.
There are some other pakoras which are also delicious & easy to make at home. Mooli pakoda, malabar spinach pakora etc are also my favorite. But these are not so popular.
