My herbal juice turned into wonderful immunity boosting drink

July 9, 2020 By admin Leave a Comment

Nowadays the word “Immunity” becomes a common word. People are looking for various homemade remedies/food/drinks to boost the ability to resist a disease/infection and stay fit. People started eating various vegetables & fruit what they do not even enjoy. It happened due to COVID19 pandemic. The number of affected people is increasing across the world. Still, people need to go outside for work or buying some essential items to survive. During this situation, my herbal juice turned into a wonderful immunity boosting drink. OMG!! How is this possible?

homegrown herbs for immunity boosting drink

There are many brahmi, tulsi & Gotu kola/Indian pennywort/thankuni plants in my rooftop garden.

I planted brahmi plants to make brahmi pakoda (very popular traditional Bengali dish). But it is difficult to consume those brahmi leaves as pakoda because those are plenty. So I decided to make its juice which is easier to make.

Thankuni leaves are used to make shukto or gotu kola juices whenever I have digestion problem. I am growing those on the ground as well as in the clay pots.

Tulsi leaves are used to make masala tea.Tulsi leaves are occasionally used to make juice with vasaka leaves to reduce cough & cold related problem. So those were used for different purposes and we are using since my childhood. I have 4 tulsi plants in pots.

So I often use all those plants to make my herbal drinks.  I mean I add leaves of all those plants (brahmi, tulsi & gotu kola) and blend in the mixture to make a herbal drink. But due to this pandemic situation, it is said from different platforms (various sites/television/social media) that ginger, cinnamon, black pepper, honey, lemon juice etc also help to improve immunity.

So I added all those to make this wonderful drink. I thought it won’t be tasty. But I was wrong. The taste of this drink is really good. It is because of the mixed flavor of all herbs as well as the sweetness of honey and sourness of lemon juice.

So now I am making this drink three or four times every week. I am enjoying my time along with this special immunity boosting drink. I am happy that my herbal juice turned into an immunity boosting drink.

I drink it 3 or 4 times in a week and rest of the days I normally have the drink prepared with chawanprash. I just add one spoon of chwanprash into a glass of warm water and stir to mix.
