Total harvested vegetables from kitchen garden – November 2020

December 20, 2020 By admin Leave a Comment

November was the month when all my early vegetable plants started producing fruits. I have many brinjal plants and some of those are more than a year old. So I got a good amount of vegetables in November month from my rooftop kitchen garden. I was happy with my radish plants. Those were good in size & taste too. I harvested a decent amount of hyacinth beans or sem phali. But after the first harvest all of my hyacinth bean plant went into resting period. I am waiting for next harvest now.   Here is the list of estimated harvested vegetables from my kitchen garden.

  • Brinjal/eggplant/baingan – 4 kg * 45 Rs/Kg or Rs 180
  • Radish/mooli – 8 kg * Rs 20/Kg or Rs 160
  • Spinach/palak – 3 bunches * Rs 10/bunch or Rs 30
  • Hyacinth beans/sem phali/ sheem – 3 kg * Rs 80/Kg or Rs 240
  • Coriander leaves – 3 bunches * Rs 5/bunch or Rs 15

Total money saved Rs (180 + 160 + 30 + 240 + 15) or Rs 625

Here I shared money that I was able to save from my garden. Though money was not important factor for a gardener because gardening gives a lot of happiness. Spending time in garden is always quality time spent and it does not only help to boost mental health but also gardening is good for physical health because it needs a lot of physical activity.

So apart from saving money from my kitchen garden, I am getting a lot of happiness & healthy lifestyle from that garden. You hardly get organic vegetables in your locality. If you will get organic vegetables but you won’t get your favorite vegetables, if you will get then that will be costly. But if you grow your own stuff and harvest fresh vegetables and eat so then you will be healthy.

So it is not just about money what you are saving from your vegetable garden. So if you are foodie and want to eat healthy as well as tasty then you should grow vegetables as much as you can.
