How to make thor bothi – Banana stem fry recipe

It’s very uncommon dish but very healthy because of nutrition value of banana stem. If you have not tasted yet and want to try it then check this recipe and try this thor bothi – banana stem fry recipe at home. Banana stem dishes are popular in south India and varieties of banana stem recipes are available there.

Though it is not a south Indian dish but similar to that. It is a dry type dish and you can have this with chapati (roti) or plain rice too.

Banana stem fry recipe

Preparation time : 10 minutes
Cooking time : 15 minutes
Serves : 4

Ingredients

  • Banana stem – 300 gm
  • Red chilies – 3
  • Green chillies -2
  • Black cumin seeds – 2 tsp
  • Salt – according to taste
  • Oil – 0.75 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Chop banana stems in very small pieces
  2. Heat oil in a frying pan and add black cumin seeds and red chilies
  3. Add finely chopped banana stem, also add salt and cook still perfectly fried
  4. Switch off flame and take fried banana stem in a serving bowl

⇒ If you want little bit juicy then add a cup of water in step 3 and boil till it reaches required quantity of gravy.

  3. Add finely chopped banana stem, also add salt according to taste and cook still perfectly fried
