October 21, 2020 By admin Leave a Comment

This year Durga puja. It is special and very different what anybody is about to witness. It is a pandemic situation due to COVID19. Since last 6 months, people witnessed many rare things what nobody thought of. People witnessed lockdown, unlock, fear of disease at global level, uncertainty, boredom for months, sanitization of roads and so many things. Now, this is the time to witness Durga puja during this pandemic situation. So this time, we should avoid pandal hopping. It is rather better to arrange a special Durga puja food menu and enjoy at home.

So here is a list of 5 awesome Durga puja food menu ideas for this year. Each of those menus is purely Bengali and I think you will pick one menu from this list for your family. So if you are planning to have delicious Bengali meal in this Durga puja then you can pick one from the list.

Durga puja food menu ideas 1

Radhaballabhi & dry aloo curry

Who does not like radhaballabhi? It is an authentic Bengali dish and most people love it. If you serve it with dry aloo curry then nothing can be more delicious than this. Particularly when it is not safe to go outside due to pandemic situation then it is better to prepare something special in this year Durga puja and enjoy at home with family.

Durga puja food menu 2

Khichuri, Papad Bhaja, Beguni & bhadakopi tarkari

Puja & khichuri are inseparable. We all love khichuri. But when it is prepared on the occasion of any puja or festival then it becomes a more enjoyable meal. Particularly if you want to prepare something in vegetarian food and that Durga puja special then khichuri can be a good choice. I love to have this meal on the day of Durga Ashtami. Secondly when it is served along with papad bhaja, beguni & badhakopi then it gives the true feeling of Durga puja festival.

Durga puja food menu 3

Luchi, bhaja & paneer rezala curry

Luch is very closed to every Bengali. Most Bengali people love those luchis with alur dum or kasha mangsho. But if you want to try something in vegetarian as well as different then try luchi along with your favorite bhaja and paneer rezala curry. Did you ever try paneer rezala curry? I mean most of us are familiar with chicken rezala. But this is similar but chicken is not added there, haha. It is still super delicious and would be very enjoyable with luchi.

Durga puja food menu 4

Vegetable biryani and veg curry

No Bengali prefer biryani without meat. But during this festival in case, you want to make something delicious but without non-vegetarian item then it can be the best option for every biryani lover. I loved to have such veg biryani along with raita when I was in Delhi. It costs Rs 40 for a half plate of veg biryani in Rohini, Delhi. I can still feel the taste. But raita is not a good option in any Bengali festival, choose something in veg curry.

Durga puja menu 5

Bhaat, shukto, dal, beguni, papad, sheem paturi

Some people may want to prepare traditional dishes for having with plain cooked rice (bhaat). So this one is such a special meal. Shukto is a popular traditional Bengali dish. It is not just healthy but also very delicious. Moog dal with vegetables, beguni & rice are the perfect combination for tasty meal. Finally, try sheem paturi which is a wonderful vegetarian dish. I love this sheem paturi too. Did you ever try it?

Any Indian dish is incomplete without sweet dish. There are a lot of options in Bengali sweet dish like fruit chtani, tomato chatni, plastic chatni, rasogolla, pantua, sandesh etc.

So which one would be your favorite Durga puja food menu?
