Sometimes man proposes and God disposes of. People try a lot but it won’t happen. People work hard but still, they do not get success for what they planned and worked hard. It may be because God decided something else. But here something different happened. We sowed seeds of hyacinth bean and only one seed was germinated. We did not care much. That plant faced a lot of hard situations that left us hopeless. But it survived again and again and finally, it has started producing fruits. Yes, there are plenty of white flowers and a lot of green coloured broad beans on the hyacinth bean vine. I harvested many times from that plant. This hyacinth bean vine really decided that it won’t die before producing tons of fruits for us.
The hyacinth bean vine almost died during the construction of a narrow concrete path through the yard garden at our premise. The workers cut the vine during their work. We did not notice. But after a week, We found that the top portion of the vine was dried up and the bottom portion of the vine struggling for life due to the cement & dust all over it. I cleared the vine, washed it and provide support to climb up again.

Everything was fine and it started growing again. I noticed a lot of green leaves on the vine. It reached on the rooftop and started spreading over our rooftop. But again due to heavy rain and waterlogging, the plant faced a hard situation. All leaves on this vine dropped within a week and I thought the plant died. But it survived waterlogging for 2-3 days. This plant is a real fighter. I applied to soil on the ground and sprayed fungicide over the plants. Within a month, the plant was covered with plenty of green leaves. Finally, it produced flowers at the end of October. From the beginning of November month, it started producing fruits.
Nowadays, almost every alternate day, I am harvesting approx 500 gm hyacinth beans. Last year, I had multiple plants. I took a lot of care of those plants. But the result was not so good. All of those plants died early due to fungal diseases. But this year, with minimum care, I am getting plenty of hyacinth bean (sheem) and enjoying the beauty of a healthy plant that is covered with plenty of green leaves and white flowers.
I must say that this hyacinth bean (sheem) plant decided that it would not die before producing tons of fruits in this season.

Now I am enjoying my meals with various dishes (shim sorse, shim paturi, shim chorchori, mix veg, shim machh etc) prepared with those beans. What do you do?
