It was Sunday when I spent an hour in the rooftop garden and then had an healthy tapioca pearls breakfast. Did you ever try tapioca pearls breakfast? It is very popular in Maharastra. This food is called sabudana khichdi in Mumbai, India. It is not just healthy and also super delicious. If you are living in Mumbai or any other city in Maharastra then you can see a lot of street food vendors are selling this awesome & very special breakfast food.
It is also popular in Madhyapradesh, a central Indian province. But you will hardly see this food at a restaurant if you are living outside of these two Indian states. So in such case you have to make it at your own kitchen if you want to enjoy this for your breakfast.
Okay, now coming to my garden. Here I have grown cauliflower in the 10 inch as well as 8 inch containers. Those cauliflower heads are not big but each cauliflower will be enough for one meal for the family.
This year, I am happy with my tomato plants. These 5 tomato plants already produced 130 tomatoes (ripe & unripe). So everyday those plants are supplying 2-3 ripe tomatoes to us. These are grown organically & fresh so the taste is better than market bought tomatoes.
This year I grew lettuce for the first time. I bought one packet of seeds from Sealdah area for Rs 60. I grew around 10 lettuce plants in October 2019. I consumed those till January 2020. I kept 3 plants for collecting seeds for next year.
Then I sowed seeds for second batch. I sowed those in January, 2020. Now you can see the result in second week of February, 2020.
These are my brinjal plants. You can see a lot of brinjals on those plants. The first two are 100 days old plants, then next three plants are approx 50 days old. Last plant is 70 days old.All those are growing organically. You can see the result.
