1. Rice

Rice is must for any Indian wedding. Biryani, coconut rice, tomato rice, lemon rice, tamarind rice are good options in rice.

2. Kootu

Kootu is a very preferred dish for any such occasion. This Tamil food is a simple dish made of seasonal vegetables and lentils. So people have so many options in kootu, probably there are hundred dishes. A must-have dish in Tamil marriage food menu.

3. Rasam

What does it actually? Do you consider it as a south Indian soup? This is different from sambar as tempering is different in both cases.

4. Idli

Idli is most common south Indian dish. Many people across the country like this soft rice made food. It works great on the breakfast menu.

5. Dosa

Another authentic south Indian dish. It works in the dinner menu. There are a lot of varieties in dosa, these are plain dosa, masala dosa, rava dosa, baby corn dosa, curd dosa, tomato dosa, puli dosa and many more.

6. Sambar

Sambar is a simple lentil based healthy dish where you can add different seasonal vegetables of your choice. It is a little bit sour in taste as tamarind is used. Sambar is served with idli, dosa and rice. Sambar itself has different versions. People use different processes to make sambar, so sometimes it is so tasty and healthy.

7. Kuzhambu

Kuzhambu is very popular in whole southern India. You may feel tired by tasting varieties of kuzhambu, to be honest, it would be simply countless. Most caterers offer multiple types of kuzhambu. 8. Payasam

Payasam is nothing but flavored Indian pudding. In Tamilnadu, it is very much popular dessert and very it is made in Tamil households for festivals. In the western world, people use different essence (like vanilla, strawberry etc)  to bring flavor in the pudding but in India, people use saffron, cardamon, cinnamon, raisins, pistachios etc to get flavor in such dessert. Payasam itself is known in different places of India in a different name. In northern India, it is known as kheer, in West Bengal, it is known as payes, Paays in Konkoni. In can be wheat payasam, rice payasam, banana payasam, tapioca payasam etc. Milk is the main ingredient in payasam.

9. Korma

What do you prefer veg korma or non-veg korma? Both veg korma and non-veg korma are great in taste and ultimately delicious. This food is originated from the Indian subcontinent. It is cooked in vegetable stock or chicken stock. Interesting thing is that it is initially fried in high flame and then simmering slowly till perfectly cooked. It is a spicy and little bit sour (ripe tomatoes or curd is added) in taste.

10. Pongal

Pongal dish is popular in most of the south Indian dish. There are two versions available in Pongal. These are sweet one and spicy one. Both are rice made dish and people prefer those in breakfast. So you can include this in the morning food menu.
