Saved money & health from homegrown vegetables in October 2020

November 10, 2020 By admin Leave a Comment

October 2020 was a poor month when I did not get enough vegetables from the garden. There was no summer vegetable plant in my garden. Most of my winter vegetable plants are young. A few plants were just a few weeks old. My french beans are not still germinating after two weeks. I sowed French bean seeds for twice. But I failed to germinate those. So I was not able to get enough homegrown vegetables in October 2020.

But still, I was able to produce a little number of homegrown vegetables this month. If you try to figure out my total harvested vegetables in money then I got this below-mentioned list.

  • Brinjal/eggplant/baingan/begun – 2 kg * Rs 60/Kg = Rs 120
  • Malabar spinach/poi/pui – 1 bunch *Rs 10/bunch = Rs 10
  • Bilati dhania/culantro – 4 bunches * Rs 10/bunch = Rs 40
  • Spinach/palak/palong – 1 bunch *Rs 10/bunch = Rs 10

I have 4 brinjal plants which are 1 year old. So those plants produced brinjal in this month. But I have also grown 10 brinjal plants this season. All those plants are just 2 months old and started flowering. Each of those brinjal plants has many flowers, so I can expect plenty of brinjal/baingan in coming days.

My radish plants are also almost ready. I will start harvesting those gradually after one more week.

My hyacinth beans/ lablab beans/sem phali/ sheem vegetable plants are also started producing a lot of beans. Those are still young now. It needs one more week, after that, I will start harvesting plenty of sheem/sem phali every week.

So are you ready to keep an eye on my garden and keep yourself motivated then you should wait for my future posts about homegrown vegetables & gardening?
