Who does not want to save money when it can achieve along with fun, pleasure & mental peace? How is this possible? Any idea? Yes, I am talking about kitchen gardening. It is a joyful activity and gives to a lot of happiness & mental peace. But it does not end here because at the end of the day you save a few bucks when you harvest your homegrown vegetables & fruits. So here is the list of my harvested vegetables & fruits in August 2020.
You can check my post where I mentioned about my kitchen garden. This month was not good because of heavy rain and I could not even apply liquid fertilizer. Secondly, waterlogging also affected my plants. Lastly, it is the end of rainy season and preparation for winter season vegetables & fruits.
But still, I was able to harvest a good amount of brinjals/eggplant, cucumber & karela. During this month I had only 6-7 okra/bhindi that too 4-5 months old plants, so I got very less amount of bhindi. This month, I also harvested a few amounts of cowpea beans/borboti as compared with last month.
So this was my total harvested homegrown vegetables & fruits (approximate weight) in August 2020
3 kg brinjal/eggplant/baingan/begun = Rs (3*70) or Rs 210
2.5 kg cucumber/kheera/sasha = Rs (2.5*40) or Rs 100
1 kg bitter gourd/karela/karola = Rs 50
0.5 kg Lady’s finger/okra/bhindi/bhendi =Rs (0.5*50) or Rs 25
0.5 kg cowpea beans/yardlong benas/lobiya/borboti = Rs (0.5*60) = Rs 30
2 bunches of malabar spinach/poi/pui = Rs 20
2 bunches water spinach/kalmi shak =Rs 20
2 bunches of herbs (Brahmi/tulsi/gotu kola etc) = Rs 20
3 bunches of culanto/Mexican dhania = Rs 30
Total saved Rs (210+100+50+25+30+20+20+20+30) or Rs 505 (Not good as compared to last month)
But this month, I did not get any fruits (except cucumber) from my potted trees. But this month, my lemon tree and pomegranate trees started fruiting. So within 2-3 months I can expect a good amount of fruits.
So are you also a gardener? Then you can share here what all you harvested this month? How much you saved
