This was another year of weird rath yatra festival. Very fewer rathas were on the street. That too possibly due to kids forced their parents to pull rath on the road. Last year was the same too. Everybody expected that this year would be normal and people can participate in the celebration. But this year also, there is no rath on the road. People did neither participate in the fair nor pull the rope of the rath of lord jagannath, Balaram & Subhadra. What people did is they ate papad, pakoda & sweets at home. Many people bought pakodas & papad from the roadside stall. It was like rath dekha kola becha. They had a good evening snack as well as they celebrated the day. So here is my rath dekha kola becha special food menu.
Does the phrase fit into this situation? Haha.
I did not make any sweet dish for this purpose. I decided to make make that on the ocassion of ulto rath. Do you know the ulto rath. It is the end day of rathyatra when Lord Jagannath, Balaram, Subhadra return from their Aunt’s house.
As papad is the most essential food on this day, so I prepared two types of padad. One is lentil based and another one is sabu dana based.
Various types of pakodas were in the rath dekha kola becha special food menu. Those were basically aloo pakoda, beguni (baingan pakoda) & onion pakoda.
I loved the celebration at home with all of those snacks. I missed the sweet dish. Otherwise I enjoyed a lot.
Try some delicious pakodas: Soya chunks pakoda, onion capsicum pakoda, mushroom pakoda
