Plain raita, Delicious raita with spices

May 14, 2018 By admin Leave a Comment

Plain raita is the simplest version of raita. But it is a clean & healthy one too. Within a jiffy, it can be prepared with fewer ingredients. It needs a few spices your raita will be ready to serve. This is such a kind of raita what probably every raitha lover tried in past. Did you too?

I generally prefer homemade curd for preparing such raita but Amul dahi & Red Cow dahi (available in our local market) are my favorite if the homemade curd is not available. Both those brand are good enough and available at the lowest price too. Amul dahi is Rs 25 for 400 gm pack whereas Red Cow dahi is available at Rs 30 for 500 gm pack. The homemade curd is economical & healthier but it is not as thick as Amul dahi & Red Cow dahi. These two are tastier too as compared to homemade yogurt/curd.

So it is an absolutely personal choice to pick right dahi/curd/yogurt. Once curd is arranged then it does not take too much time to prepare plain raita at home. You just need to add a few easily available spices, coriander leaves and green chillies, combine all of those. Chilled water can be used to make raita less thick. So in such case, homemade dahi is much more effective, haha.
