You must have tried dahi vada at roadside snacks store or at a restaurant. It is so delicious and spicy food. Vada is immersed in curd with a lot of masala (spices). In North India, it is served with red (tamarind) and green (pudina) chutney. It is basically a south Indian dish and people have it as snacks as well as breakfast too. If you want to try this at home then this dahi vada recipe will help you make it very easily.

In north India, dahi bhalla is also a popular dish similar to dahi vada and people use to have it from road side stores. But in dahi bhalla so many other ingredients are added. Papdi in added in dahi bhalla but here dahi wada is more simple and fried vada is immersed in curd.
Generally, you can have a plate of dahi vada at a price of Rupees 25-40 in Northern India, particularly in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, and Uttarakhand. Not only that nowadays it is very popular in other parts of India also. In West Bengal, it is known as doi bora, where as in Odisha it is known as dahi bora. This curd based vada is favorite chaat in Tamilnadu, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh also. But it has a new name in each state. There is little variation in taste also as they add spices and chutney according to their taste.

This is super delicious chaat with mouth watering extra spices. I love this food for breakfast also. But most people prefer this as a starter before dinner or snack at evening. Nowadays it becomes a popular snack in wedding reception’s food menu or any other occasion.
You can check other breakfast dishes (sabudana khichdi, poha, upma etc) and can start a healthy day with full of energy.
