Today I have tried another delicious drink after a glass of wood apple lassi what I had yesterday. This time it is a glass of chilled lemongrass lemonade. Yes, you have heard this correctly. It is lemongrass lemonade prepared with a combination of both lemongrass as well and lemon juice. It won’t be too much sour in taste, so you need less sugar to add. But you will get a strong flavor of lemongrass. It is a very refreshing and delicious drink for summer.
Last two day we all were thinking about Fani (pronounced as Foni in Bengali) when we will encounter with this cyclone. Cyclone fani hit Indian state Odisha at 8.30 AM on 3rd May 2019. It was announced that it will reach West Bengal by afternoon and it will hit Kolkata same day in the evening. But it somehow after reaching Digha, the cyclone fani rapidly lost its power and shrinks its area. So there was not much cyclonic effect in Kolkata and its sounding area. So now cyclone threat is over, so its time to have drinks.
Why sometimes lemongrass lemonade is better than lemon water?
Yes, sometimes lemongrass lemonade is healthy option than lemon water if you drink too many juices, milkshakes, mojito etc. Lemon juice is sour in taste. So if you add more lemon juice to get a strong flavor then you may need to ass more sugar to make it delicious. So that means you are consuming more calorie which is not good for your health. But in case you add lemongrass then it won’t add a sour taste in your drink but still, it gives strong flavor, so you can add less sugar and make your drink delicious.

Lemongrass lemonade recipe
- 2 stalks of lemongrass
- 2 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 glasses of water
- Pinches of black salt
- Ice cube as needed
- Clean & cut lemongrass stalks, then wash in water
- Now boil 1 glass water in a pot and add lemongrass to it, let it boil under medium flame for 4 minutes
- Then strain it to remove lemongrass from water, allow it to reach at room temperature
- Now add one glass of chilled water, lemon juice, black salt and sugar and mix it in an electric mixer
- Serve it with ice cubes
This lemongrass lemonade recipe is very simple but very delicious & refreshing too.
