I used to have it whenever I had cold in my childhood. But it becomes a delicious dish to me and nowadays during winter season, I often have it with plain.
The strong aroma of fried garlic & nigella seeds (Kalo jeera/ kalonji) make this item so special. so whoever like the flavor & strong smell of those two spices will definitely enjoy it with rice.

Kalo jeera rasoon bhaja recipe
- 14-15 garlic cloves
- 2 teaspoons kalo jeera/kalonji/nigella seeds
- 4 red chilli, sun dried whole
- ½ tablespoon mustard oil
- Heat oil in a cook pot (kadai)
- Now add roughly mashed garlic and also add sundried whole red chillies
- Spread kalo jeera (kalonji/nigella seeds) and saute till nice aroma comes out
- Serve it with warm cooked rice
It is so simple but surprisingly so simple. Many people also love this dish so much during winter season. When you will have cough & cold, you will definitely enjoy this.
