But it is a fact that many food bloggers are suffering from fewer follower base. Sometimes it takes years to grow followers to a decent figure when you can drive food blog traffic from Twitter after each post with your blog post link. But till then what? Can we still expect traffic from Twitter?
For newbies, it is very difficult to get traffic from Twitter. Basically many people are not comfortable to manage Twitter handle. Actually, those people (I think everybody) who are using Facebook since the last couple of years but never used Twitter. Some of you may have opened Twitter handle but never tweets a single time after that day, :). Suddenly they have started using Twitter to promote their blog without any prior experience. It sounds like a new born baby who can not walk and somebody is forcing him to run ;). It sounds funny but it is true. Nowadays this scenario becomes very common in bloggers community.
So before moving ahead let’s talk something about Twitter.
Twitter is a micro blogging platform and it is different from other social media sites. Most of the users are consumer and influential.
There are few basic things what people follow to drive food blog traffic from Twitter (Or any other blog)
Tweets – Tweets & Tweets: Whatever you will post on your blog, you must share it on twitter. Share as much as possible and but don’t share the same thing on the same day. Share your thoughts every day on Twitter and keep your followers updated.
Use hashtag # to spread your tweet and make your tweet a part of a subject for discussion. Use # in your each tweet. This way you can get little more traffic without having enough followers of your Twitter handle.

Tricks to drive food blog traffic from Twitter with fewer followers
Involve in other’s matter: It is something opposite what we have learned since childhood and that is “do your job and don’t involve yourself in other’s matter unnecessarily”. Here we do tweets and share our blog posts but that is not enough. You need to be forcefully involved in some trendy subjects. FORCEFULLY? IS IT? Yes some time getting involved in any hot topic may gift you huge free traffic. So keep your eyes on Twitter suggested trendy topics and take part in a discussion on such topics. So it may help you to increase blog traffic without having decent followers on social media.
Use JUSTRETWEET: It is basically credit based free Twitter sharing and Twitter following service. Here users will get credit point for retweeting others tweets and they can use that credit points for getting more and more retweets of their own tweets. I found this like give and take policy.
JUSTRETWEET will definitely help you to get retweets of your tweets and also you will be easily available some followers. But you need to submit your Tweet under the right category. Otherwise, you will gradually loose again your followers after some days.
This tool is very effective one to drive food blog traffic from Twitter (in my case) but it will work excellent if you run a technology, social media marketing, SEO, marketing, blogging related blog. But still I found it effective to earn some retweets and survive with fewer Twitter followers.
