Tomato soup recipe – Healthy hot & sour soup

Tomato soup is most popular soup among the all other vegetable soups. As it is easy to cook & healthy, most people prefer to have it at home too. But a normal tomato soup is not always tasty. Many people do not prefer such normal soup. But if you try this hot & sour tomato soup recipe then you will definitely like this.
Here potato is added and tomatoes & onion are not blended in a mixer grinder. Green chilies are added later to keep its flavor more strong.

Kitchen appliances needed for making this hot and sour tomato soup

Here tomatoes and potatoes are not blended to make a smooth puree, rather manual or hand masher is used to mash tomatoes and potatoes. But if you want to use mixer grinder to blend this hot & sour tomato soup and make smooth puree then you can easily do so by using your own kitchen appliances. But never put hot boiled tomatoes or potatoes directly into your favorite mixer grinder because it may lead your mixer grinder to start mal functioning. So avoid such activities, clean your blenders regularly and keeps your appliance healthy, so that you can make yourself busy in hazard free cooking or happy cooking. If you are not happy with the performance of your appliance then buy a new effective mixer grinder as per your requirements. Do your own research before buying such appliance because nowadays new features are added to such appliances and may be all such features are not needed according to your requirement but still you may have to pay if you are not aware of all of those, not only that nowadays many new appliances are available in the market what perform excellently for specific tasks only. Healthy hot & sour tomato soup recipe

Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 20 minutes
Serves: 2 people

Ingredients

  • Tomatoes – 4 large size
  • Onion – 2 small size
  • Potato – half of a small one
  • Garlic – 4-5 cloves (chopped)
  • Corn flour – 2 tsp
  • Green chilies – 2 small sizes (chopped)
  • Black pepper – 2 tsp
  • Salt – according to taste
  • Water – 2.5 cups

Method

  1.  Boil tomatoes & a piece of potato for 10 minutes & take boiled tomatoes in a bowl and remove the skin of tomatoes & keep that water for further use
  2. Heat a cooking pot, add oil and fry onion & garlic, do not fry too much (fry till onion comes light brown)
  3. Now add boiled green chilies, tomatoes & potato and cook for 3-4 minutes
  4. Add salt & water (what you used to boil tomatoes & potato) and boil for 5 minutes
  5. Mashed potato & tomatoes with masher
  6. Add corn flour and stir continuously for 2 minutes
  7. Switch off flame and pour this into bowl
  8. Now add black pepper and serve hot

Additional tips

⇒ You can skip potato but it makes soup thick & delicious
⇒ You can add some butter in soup but if you want to have to very often then skip butter
⇒ You can blend tomatoes & onion in mixer grinder and make this tomato soup smoother
