Many people like to have a bowl soup (specially vegetable soup) before having meal. Soup is generally a very light food that means it has low calorific value but it contains high nutrition value. That is why people prefer to have it before lunch or dinner (preferably dinner) as it can compensate your less vegetable intake throughout the day. Tomato soup :
Tomato soup is most common soup and popular too. Its very easy to cook and also very tasty if served hot. Travelers have often tasted it while travelling by train. Tomato is main ingredient as its name suggested. Some people add onion to this but many people do not like onion in tomato soup. It is prepared in different styles in different locations. Some people also enjoy cold tomato soup too. But I personally do not like cold soup.
Mushroom soup :
If you do not like mushroom then you never can enjoy this. But many people like it very much. I use to buy mushroom from local shop in Delhi fro Rs20 which was not good for health. But now I try to avoid local shops and prefer departmental store to buy mushroom. Onion is must for mushroom soup. Its little bit creamy and unfortunately not a low calorie food. You can add less cream to make it but you can not get authentic taste of it without cream or creamy milk.
Onion Soup :
This is another delicious soup and obviously its main ingredient is onion as its name suggested. It’s not popular so much but it has some varieties which you may like. French onion soup is my favorite. In some restaurants, they use cheese and make it delicious but it kills your hunger too due to high calorie. Another interesting recipe is spring onion soup recipe, though its not kanda or pyaz (onion) rather its actually green leaves of onion plant 😉 .
Mix vegetable soup :
Mix vegetable soup is one of the most healthiest soups, it has better nutrition value. You can add vegetable according to your choice and use olive oil to cook. You can taste it in many restaurants or do experiment at home with various vegetables.
Carrot soup :
Carrot is an important winter vegetable. Without any other vegetables carrot soup is not so tasty. So people add tomato, palak (spinach) etc with carrot. I prefer to have properly blended carrot, but many people prefer half blended preparation.
Palak soup or spinach soup :
Kids do not like this dish. Its very simple recipe to cook. Best time for palak soup is winter as fresh palak is available in market. If you like palak then you are lucky as its very healthy vegetable.
Paneer soup with vegetables :
Ofcourse paneer is not a vegetable but if you do not add any vegetable with paneer then you never can like it. Many people can not enjoy it because of its smell. So add vegetable with paneer is mandatory to make it delicious. People generally add cabbage, mushroom, capsicum, celery etc.
Sweet corn soup :
Sweet corn soup is very popular due to its creamy taste. Though there are many variation in sweet corn soup recipe but I prefer creamy taste most. In many restaurant creamy and non creamy both type of sweet corn soups are available.
Cabbage soup :
