This is a little funny query came in my mind and started searching on internet but did not find any proper answer. I thought it should be ‘eat soup’, not ‘drink soup’ but still I have used in two or three posts as drink soup because there I served soup in mug or cup. So it is little confusing to me but most people have firmed believe about their knowledge in grammar and they stick to one, not like me. But some people are smarter they avoided both ‘eat soup’ and ‘drink soup’ and used ‘enjoy soup’ or ‘have soup’. DAMN CONFUSING! Huh.
In case of some tomato based soup or other watery soup we actually drink it because we find nothing to bite for such case. So it should not be wrong if I will say I drink soup, I mean technically it is not a wrong phrase.
But if you see other side where soup is not watery rather it is full of many vegetables, fruits or non vegetarian items, hence you need to bite all those items when you will consume soup. Then you are supposed to eat soup. Those soups are heavy food and may kill your hunger once you consume before your meal.
