August 24, 2016 By admin Leave a Comment

Dum aloo is favorite dish for many vegetarian. Non vegetarian people also like spicy restaurant style dum aloo very much with jeera rice or tawa roti. Punjabi or kashmiri dum aloo is also very popular due to its spicy taste. Here this dum aloo with curd is very popular in Bengal and also some people in Bengal know this dish as kashmiri dum aloo but it is not as spicy as north Indian dum aloo. You can find here that dum aloo recipe with curd, so try this at your home too. Here you do not need to use onions and tomato. Surprised? But it is true, it is totally different from normal restaurant style spicy dum aloo with tomato gravy. Here gravy is made of curd, ginger and some spices. It has different aroma.

You can have this type of dum aloo with paratha too. I personally preferred this with dal khichdi. Normally in dum aloo potatoes are deep fried in oil before adding in gravy. But here it is not deep fried, you will add potatoes when you add spices in oil. So you do not need to fry those separately. You can make this dish within shorter period.
