What happened after consumption of ashwagandha for 6 weeks?

September 8, 2020 By admin Leave a Comment

Ashwagandha is a medicinal herb and it is used as a herbal medicine for hundreds or thousands of years. Most of us heard that it is used to manage stress in Ayurveda treatment. Everybody has heard about this herb and many people also consume this through many other Ayurvedic products like chawanprash. But did you ever consume ashwagandha continuously for 6 weeks? How will you feel after consuming this herb for so many weeks? What happened after such weeks of consumption?

Actually, I am taking chawanprash for last 3-4 months during the rainy season and that was the lockdown period due to COVID19. I thought it would keep me away from cough & cold. It really worked after consuming 1-2 months because I did not have a cough & cold after that.

Consumption of ashwagandha powder

So I started searching for its ingredients and benefits of each ingredient. I came to know that ashwagandha is also one of such ingredients. Actually almost every possible medicinal herb is added to make chawanprash. It is said that ashwagandha root extracts/powder is helpful to manage stress, ageing, anxiety, insomnia, diabetes, cholesterol, thyroid, gastrointestinal problems, memory loss etc. So when I went through some articles on ashwagandha herb, I decided to buy this herb and try.

You can buy it in capsule form or tablet form or even in powder form. But I chose to buy ashwagandha capsule because I do not need to worry about a safe amount of ashwagandha root powder. Normally capsules or tablets are available with 250 mg or 500 mg dosage. Generally, these two dosages (one capsule/tablet twice a day) are recommended to consume as a general wellness supplement. Otherwise, you may need to consult a Ayurveda doctor for taking a higher dosage of capsule/tablets.

Initially, I started consuming one 250 mg capsule at night. But after consuming for one week, I did not feel anything. So I consumed 2 capsules at night and I realized that it instantly feel me relaxed. I realized that it worked so fast on my body once I consumed two 250 mg capsules at a time.

So I started trying two capsules a day, one in the morning & another at night. Yes, this time after another one week, it really worked on me. I started really feeling good & relaxed. It really helped me to feel stress free. After consuming for 6 weeks continuously, it helped me to sleep well. I mean though I did not have any sleep disorder. But it is helping me to sleep within 5 mins after I go to bed.

I must say that that ashwagandha root powder really a magical herb. You can feel that something is happening inside your body within an hour after consumption of this herb. But it totally depends upon person to person. Somebody can feel 250 mg capsule is enough for them whereas somebody may need a higher dosage to feel its effectiveness. But for higher dosage you need to consult an Ayurveda doctor for this purpose.

Surprisingly, till now such a strong herb has no significant negative side effect. Indian people are using it for thousands of years. It has such a long history in Ayurveda treatment. It is really a miracle herb to boost immunity as well as so many other health benefits.

Recently I purchased its raw powder instead of capsules. The raw powder is really cost-effective, but you need to be careful to take the right amount of ashvagandha root powder because in such case, normally people do not weigh to take the right amount of powder.
