Mixer grinder is one of the most useful and multi-tasking appliances in a modern kitchen. It reduces human effort during cooking. It equipped you to deal with many difficult cooking processes and helps in faster cooking. There are a lot of types of mixer grinder available in the market with simple basic features to various advanced features. So based on food habits and lifestyle people need different features in their mixer grinder. But there are few mixer grinder usages what are applicable to almost every user and whatever your food habits & lifestyle will be, those mixer grinder usages are very common for all of them.

1. Grinding various dry spices

There are many dry spices what we often use in our food. The list of dry spices is quite long and particularly in India, it includes cumin, coriander, chilli, cardamom, cinnamon, black pepper, dry mango, turmeric, roasted dry spices and many more. This is most common mixer grinder usage and almost every household needs mixer grinder mainly for this reason.

2. Grinding wet spices

Most common set spices are onion, ginger and garlic. These are the most used spices in any cuisine and in India, these are used in large quantities as compared to others. Wet red chilli, mustard seeds and poppy seeds paste are also used in many dishes.

3. Grinding grain to make flour or batter

This is another common purpose of having mixer grinder in any kitchen. In western countries, people may not need this very often but people need a grinder for this purpose in the Indian subcontinent. People often make idli, dosa, vada, pitha (Bengali sweet) and many more thing. So they need to make batter and people make that at home. They grind grains at home and make fine flour or batter and use it to make such food at home. Sometimes people use to make rice flour at home to make the batter for pakoda etc. There are so many other different cuisines where a batter is needed to make. So grinding grain is also an important and common mixer grinder purpose. So in such case, you may need mixer grinder with a higher power rating.

4. Mixing liquids to make milkshake etc

You have purchased mixer grinder but not mixing anything that does not make any sense. 🙂 What do you say? So you definitely need this to mix some liquids and do this very often to make a milkshake or any delicious drink. Milkshake is very to make and this popular drink can be made within few minutes, you only need a standard mixer grinder appliance in your kitchen and this is another most common use of mixer grinder.

5. Making smooth puree (fruit or vegetables)

People around the world use vegetable or fruit puree to make different types of food. In India, people mostly use vegetable puree in most traditional recipes. These are mostly tomatoes, potatoes, spinach, coriander leaves, curry leaves etc. Not only that people often use mixer grinder to make a smooth puree (or paste) of grains also. In western food, people use fruit puree alongside vegetable or grain one to make different food.
