Chilli paneer gravy

July 11, 2018 By admin Leave a Comment

Chilli paneer gravy is one of the most delicious Indo Chinese food. It has two versions – dry and gravy. Both dishes are excellent but this chilli paneer gravy is more enjoyable with roti & rice. Most food lovers have definitely tried this awesome dish at a restaurant but trying this food at home will always give you a lot of happiness.

Non-vegetarians people & chilli paneer gravy

Though non-vegetarians will always go for chilli chicken instead of this paneer dish. But if you want to try something similar in vegetarian food then this one should be your first option. Gravies of both dishes are almost the same by ignoring the basic taste difference between paneer or chicken. I mean there be a shine in chilli chicken due to melted fat of chicken and a strong aroma of chicken in your chicken based dish. But for vegetarian people, this mouthwatering chilli paneer gravy is really something special.

Paneer dishes here in Kolkata

Though I am a non-vegetarian but still paneer is my all time favorite. Even paneer is not as popular here in Kolkata or West Bengal as it is in Northern Indian states. Here people rarely make paneer based dishes at home. There are so many people in West Bengal who do not like paneer. Actually, unlike North India here most people are non-vegetarian. So they prefer fish, chicken, meat, egg etc over paneer.

Chilli paneer gravy & me in Delhi

But I have developed my taste as I was living in Delhi for years. I tried paneer based dishes at various restaurants at Narela, kamlanagar, Keshavpuram, Pitampura, Rohini, Kirti Nagar, Ramesh Nagar etc. My favorite dhaba was at Narela to Holambi connecting road near DSIDC. I loved paneer do pyaza, shahi paneer, paneer masala, kadai paneer, at that road side dhaba. Awesome food at lowest cost were available there.

Restaurant like chilli paneer gravy at home

Okay, coming to this chilli paner gravy dish, I would first say I love this dish with butter naan but sometimes I prefer this with matar rice or jeera rice too. Though it is not that easy to make at home, particularly it is difficult to bring restaurant like taste at home. But if you follow this chilli panerr gravy step by step instructions then you can easily make similar restaurant like chilli paneer gravy at home too.
