Do you know adda? What is this? Bengalis are familiar with this word. It means informal conversation with friends & family or among the group of people. So such conversation is incomplete if tea or chai is not there. Snacks are also highly preferable along with such conversation. So here is an awesome Monday special food menu for chai adda.
Many people have a certain place for adda with friends or family members. Some people prefer such joyful adda at their backyard garden or balcony or rooftop garden. Some people have a specific shop or cafe or park for such informal conversation with friends. They regularly meet each other at those places.
Indians are very fond of tea (or chai). There are also various types of tea preparation available in India. Masala tea & mathri (Local biscuits) from roadside stall is a super combination for relaxing and chatting with people. Many people enjoy such time a lot. Red tea or lemon are also popular because some people want to avoid milk as sometimes milk can be cause of digestion problem.
Monday special food menu for chai pe adda at home
It was my Monday special evening snack – ROASTED PEANUTS, SABUDANA PAPAD along with RED TEA.
Will you enjoy a long chai pe adda along with red tea, roasted peanuts and saudana papad? Certainly yes, Right?
Roasted peanuts: Roasted peanuts are very popular snack in India, particularly when you are travelling then it is a great snack because it is tasty, very simple and full of energy. I prefer homemade roasted peanuts whenever I am at home. It is easy to make and you can spend a lot of time with a handful peanuts. If you have roasted peanuts with its skin then it is more enjoyable because it slows the speed of eating peanuts, haha and gives us opportunity to spend more time at leisure.
Sabudana papad: It is not as popular as dal papad in India. But sabudana papad is very popular in West Bengal. Particularly during rainy season, most Bengali people love this type of papad. Do you also love this? On the occasion of Rathayatra of Bhagwan Jagannath, this sabudana papad is available at various roadside stalls.
Red tea: I like this red tea which is prepared with extracts of tea leaves, ginger paste, tulsi leaves and sugar/honey. It is very enjoyable. It is more enjoyable when served with a light snack like roasted peanuts, papad etc.
So what is your favorite snack for chai pe adda?
