Bangla Shuvo Noboborsh is a very special day for every Bengali. It is the first day (1st Baishakh) of the Bengali New year when Bengalis are in a festive mood. This day is also known as Pohela Baishakh or Poila Baishakh. On that day people greet each other by saying “Shuvo Noboborsho” (means happy new year). Bengali Hindus worship Lakshmi & Ganesh. Various cultural programs are organized on this day. People wear new clothes and celebrate this day very joyfully. But without food no festival is enjoyable.
