A few years, when I was in Delhi I used to have raita along with veg biryani or chole chawal on every weekend at local restaurants in Rohini, Delhi. I found nothing is more delicious and healthy than those two. Not only that, it was not even expensive too. Veg biryani & riata was available at Rs 70 and half plate of chole chawal was available at Rs 35.Before that time, I was not so fond of raita. I used to prefer plain curd/yogurt instead of raita. But during those period I was almost addicted to boondi raita.
Another raita I found the best for biryani was burani raita. I even never heard about such raita till I visited Hyderabad. It was also super delicious particularly to have with biryani.
I loved pineapple raita too. But it is not to have with biryani. Onion raita & cucumber raita are something what are very common & popular and easily go with any type of main course food.
