The best monsoon meal that brings smile on every Bengali’s face

August 6, 2020 By admin Leave a Comment

It is raining outside and you are hungry. Then what? I mean you definitely want a plate of pakoda and masala chai. Right? But what do you love to have for lunch? If you are Bengali then you also want the same meal what most Bengali people want to have during rain. Is that? It is monsoon and almost every alternate day it is raining. There are many places in the region which are waterlogged. So many people are struggling for doing their daily work. Gardeners are also facing a lot of problem to maintain their garden clean & keep plants healthy. But whenever this best monsoon meal is served then it will automatically bring a smile on Bengali’s face.

Oh, don’t you want to wait more to know the best monsoon meal for every Bengalis? Haha!!

But I think you have already guessed it perfectly.

best monsoon meal

It’s khichdi meal! Everybody loves it and if it is raining outside then it is the best meal.

I love this meal a lot. You just need a few side dishes along with this. Somebody may love this with mixed veg curry, whereas somebody may enjoy it with curd. Yes CURD!! Somebody will enjoy it with various fritters & fries. There are some people who love this meal with pickle & papad, nothing else.

But most Bengali people love this khichdi along with any veg curry (cabbage curry, mixed veg curry etc), any kind of fritters/pakoda (beguni is preferable), omelette, fried fish and papad.

khichdi meal

I love it with omelette & papad. Sometimes I also expect beguni or hilsha fries. But during these lockdown days, I can not expect things just suddenly. I mean I need to plan it accordingly. But rains & mood can not be planned.

So I enjoyed moog dal khichdi along with omelette and masala papad, seeing it was still raining outside.
