Wedding food menu is always an important matter for the host as well as guests too. 🙂 A great arrangement, perfect selection of food menu and fantastic food quality make the whole event of marriage ceremony successful. Delighted guests will always give compliments. But as you know every state of India has some speciality in food and culture and many people prefer other cuisines over their traditional food. So hosts of such events often get confused to decide on traditional menu & modern mixed food menu. People arrange modern food menu where they add western food as well as other Indian cuisines too. That is why nowadays the traditional Bengali wedding food menu can be rarely seen.
But still, some people are looking for authentic Bengali cuisine to add in their food menu. Not only that there are few Bengali people who want to offer traditional Bengali food to their guests and they stick to only Bengali cuisine.

Wow nice article. I like it
It is possible to serve Chinese dishes at a Bengali engagement cum registry party?
Yes! why not? But it totally depends upon the type of guests? whom are you inviting? Mostly I think they are your relatives or friends and you know all of them personally. Do they like it? If yes then go ahead but I think in general, middle aged/senior people will not like it. But kids/young people will love that.
I attended many North Indian wedding where noodles and other chinese items were served from buffet/stalls along with other traditional north Indian items.
Yesterday I have attended a Bengali marriage ceremony. Here is the menu
Mineral water – Fish worly – Salad & sauce – Luchi – Lamba begun bhaja – Kashmiri dum aloo – Polao – Fish tomato – Mutton do piyaji /Dahi katla – Chatni – Masala papad – Malai chamcham – Sandesh – Ice cream (stall) – Pan (stall)
This was a unique Bengali biyer khabar menu where simple luchi, kashmiri dum aloo and begun bhaja were served. I mean begun bhaja used to be served a few decades ago. But it was nowadays not common even simple luchi is not a common food in Todays Bengali wedding menu. Because nowadays people prefer naan, butter nan, kulcha or radhaballabhi in Bengali biyer khabar menu.
